I must admit that I use Linkedin for 3 reasons: 1) Keeping track of past coleagues when they move jobs 2) Seeing who is lookin at my profile (either potential clients or headhunters) which provides a rough guide to the market 3) Being my on-line CV for potential clients The one point that is true is that it does provide a top ranking for your name on a Google search.
