Just received these #awesome sharemyplaylists.com tees in the post- DIY DJ- Love it! If you don’t know what Sharemyplaylists.com is then let me tell you- It’s is a resource for Spotify users to share and explore Spotify Playlists which is brilliant because Spotify doesn’t have a recommendation feature like LastFM so Sharemyplaylists acts like a recommendation service where you can search in groups and genres. And if you don’t know what Spotify is then let me shoot you in the head for not knowing one of the greatest free music services ever! (see the founder Daniel Ek in previous Techfluff posts).
I’m feeling happy today – so the first person to comment gets the red and brown t-shirts (i wanna keep the yellow one pour moi! mail me your address hermioneway@newspepper.com

What a crrrraaaaazzzzyyyyy couple of weeks it’s been -Flying here, there, and everywhere- let me give you a little update of my adventures:
First up it was Moo.com’s 3rd birthday- What a great British startup-only three years old and its grown into a known brand worldwide- Founder Richard Moross should be very proud of himself and his big offices in Old Street, home to his big fleet of staff, one of which is clearly very dedicated to Moo.com -Look at one of Moo’s designers did to his hair for the Moo.com birthday party:
Moo.com’s trademark product are the Moo mini cards with your Flickr photos on the back- a must have for anyone wanting to brand themselves a tech entrepreneur, but Moo.com have recently launched normal sized cards and providing new services like postcards- Here’s a little highlights video of their 3rd birthday party with yours truly on what I think of Moo!
On Wed week before last it was The TechCrunch London gig where the Techfluff.tv crew was livestreaming again. Sponsored by BootLaw and Seedcamp, the winner of the pitch competition was FestBuzz.

One pitch caught my eye- Online dating site - kyubid.com It’s where you can bid for dates- Mr Butcher has asked me to do a review on the site so I’m going to do a test next week and video the results to see if it actually works;)
After the TechCrunch event I hopped over to Sun Microsystems for a Facebook Developer’s Garage special on ‘what not to do in social media’. I presented the Top 5 Epic Fails in social media, here’s my presentation: WARNING: included – some swearing and vulgar language.
Friday was Dragon Den’s Doug Richard’s School for Startups at The British Library- We went along and videoed the event, interviewing attendees and the big man himself- you can watch our event report here very shortly. One thing I did notice about Doug’s style was that he is very straight forward, tells it like it is and doesn’t bull s**t- His style is much similar to the US entrepreneurs I’ve heard speak at geekfest South By South West - I think more UK entrepreneurs need to adopt his style of confidence and ‘won’t take no for an answer’ style- people always say Europeans entrepreneurs aren’t aggressive enough- well I think they should go listen to Doug and learn some tricks from him!
Here is Doug with the Telegraph’s Richard Tyler just before Doug went on stage- wonder what Doug had done?!
Saturday I flew to Amsterdam to be in an awesome viral video for Uniface-the Rapid Application Development (RAD) environment owned and maintained by Compuware and built in Amsterdam. They were very clever by getting Uniface developers, customers and industry specialists to star in the viral.
It was loads of fun working with the guys and people like Dylan Schiemann who is a hard-core programmer and software entrepreneur. I don’t want to tell you too much about the shoot because I’ll ruin the surprise but I’ll just say the badass square seriously impresses the girl with his software applications- (that’s not a euphemism) watch this space for the video.

Getting my makeup done
Straight after I flew to Germany to do a presentation for a pharma company on social media and why I think it’s an effective channel and how and why they should they should jump on the social media bandwagon- I crowd sourced my presentation so thanks guys for helping me if you sent me links to include:)
Back in London on Wed night we were livestreaming at the Facebook Developer’s Garage FOWA special -where Facebook had flown over from Silicon Valley to catch the action, then on Friday was Ryan Carson’s Future Of Web Apps (FOWA)where some amazing things happened:
1. Just as i was about to Tweet about what a sausage fest FOWA was (serious lack of girls) – an unknown woman sprinted down the isle and onto the stage – this was because Kevin Rose and Gary V were doing the Digg show and asked which startup wanted to get on stage first, As James Proud of Giglocator jumped up and made his way to the stage, this women, out of know where scrambled on stage in a very short skirt…resulting in, well, how do I put it? #buttflashing the audience.
2. Then, never one to miss an opportunity and terribly board of being single I Tweeted if anyone wanted to go on a date with me- bare in mind the #fowa Twitter stream was running in the background so it was a good opportunity to get my Tweet seen by everyone… Dave McClure then Tweeted:
So I got up on stage and asked for the first Digg Date (Date sourced on the Digg show) -Kevin Rose ran with it and asked who wanted to go on a date with me…Three guys got up on stage and Gary V, playing Cilla Black, got me asking the potential dates questions – here’s one: ‘If we were on a date what would be the first three iPhone apps you would show me?’ There were some pretty funny answers including one involving a mustache app- WTF?!
Then right at the end Kanye interrupts us during the show;) Damn Kanye- he’s just everywhere!
This probably doesn’t make much sense - you kind of had to be there, but in the end the crowd choose my hot date developer Chris Lea who unfortunately lives in LA- but we’re gonna have our date soon no matter what and I will let you know how it goes;)
I am currently in Iceland on a social media workshop with some of the world’s leading tech peeps and futurologists so very excited to hear what predictions they’ll make for a digital future, I’ve got a few of my own too; Early on in the year I said it was the year of the API, and it really has come true, everyone is launching an API! -Next year i think Augmented Reality will really come into fruition in mainstream consumer markets- will upload pp soon.
Oh! And please comment on this post to get TechCrunch UK editor Mike Butcher taking his clothes off for charity – It’s called the London Nude Tech Calendar and a group of London tech peeps are going Calendar Girl’s Style to raise money for Take Heart India. It will be fun and tastefully done – see the video below to get an idea of what it’s about:
Hi everyone, it’s Isabelle (one of Techfuff’s European correspondents) with a few words about Picnic 09′ PICNIC09 last week here in Amsterdam.
For those of you who don’t know PICNIC – it’s one of Europe’s main future and innovation conferences – uniting the worlds of media, entertainment and technology.
Apart from being a feast for the eyes PICNIC features a 3 day programme of truly inspirational speakers and workshops, well worth it if you want to get the scoop on what’s new and what’s next.
Highlights for me were my tour of the Microsoft Surface Table…
And listening to one of gaming’s fathers Peter Molyneux talking project Milo- It will amaze you!
I will be interviewing the founders of Agmented Reality startup Layar soon- so watch this space:)
