Techfluff.tv at MWC2010

Last week, our resident Techfluff.tv Correspondent in Barcelona, Tom Hayton, visited Mobile World Congress 2010 to find out about the latest trends, gadgets and applications for mobile phones. In between the Spanish tapas and beer, Tom got a sneak preview at the exhibition and recorded some demos for our enjoyment.

He tested the Dolby Mobile and Media generator, which brings your home theatre sound system on to the small little device of your phone set. Learned about LogMeInRescue.com -a  remote connectivity site making it easy to reach hard-to-reach devices.  Tom shows us their ‘Ignition for iPhone’ application which can access any PC or a mac i.e. your full desktop and files.

For those who are predictive text junkies, Tom learns about an innovative PredictiveText 2.o product that learns from mobile phone users i.e. from their SMS language, email inbox and social media accounts – to make predictions personal and relevant the user. These guys claim they are 240% more accurate than the market leaders because the application doesn’t repeat the same mistake over and over again.

Finally, just to confirm that we are really in 2010s, Motorola demos head-mounted computer for hands-free mobile communications. Is this something you think you will use?
