What’s in your Social Media toolkit?

Social Media World Forum

T’was the night before Social Media World Forum and every member of the digirati were getting themselves prepared for two days of watching, learning and living social media. For those who are going (and even those who aren’t), what tools do you use to blog, vlog and track conferences in real time (apart from Tweetdeck…)?

Adam Vincenzini suggested using CoveritLive to me – which is a live blogging tool that allows you to broadcast live commentary to your readers. I’ve never used it before – but I have signed up, so I’m going to try live blogging one of the sessions I attend during the forum. I’ve heard live blogging is exhausting, but I’ll give it a crack!

I also did a Google search and found this handy post called 75 tools for events and clocked 12seconds.tv – which is site that lets you do a video tweet in only 12 seconds. It looks great for instant video coverage of an event.

I also thought TweetBeep.com (via @mkakan) was another great find for aggregating all the tweets relating to #SMWF over the next two days. It’s like GoogleAlerts – but for Twitter. This way I can collect other people’s thoughts and blog links reviewing the conference – then read over them later this week.

So what tools do you use to cover events and conferences?

  1. Chloe,

I’ll be live blogging as well during Social Media World Forum tomorrow (http://joshchandlerblog.com/live-blog/). I’ll be using CoverItLive for this live blog, haven’t found anything else which can match in functionality and real-time community participation.

I hope I’ll manage to get a ton of great content on the live blog. Look forward to meeting you tomorrow.
